1. With high-end power, whose incarnation is Avita?

Avita comes from under Changan Automobile, and in English it is "Avatr", which means "avatar".

On June 25, 2022, Avita invited Zhu Huarong, Chairperson of Changan Automobile, Xu Zhijun, Chairperson of Huawei, Zeng Yuqun, Chairperson of Ningde Times, and three business leaders to gather at the Avita booth of the Chongqing Auto Show to jointly launch the "new generation of intelligent electric vehicle technology platform – CHN". So what is the origin of the favorite of the three families?

In the new energy matrix of Changan, Deep Blue is positioned as 20~ 300,000 range, and the target in 2023 is 400,000, while Changan Deep Blue has just exceeded 10,000 units in December 2022. According to Tianyancha data, as of now, both Changan Automobile and Changan New Energy hold shares in Avita, and the proportion of the former is slightly higher than that of the latter, which also means that Avita has to be "higher" than Deep Blue to a certain extent, which is enough to show that Avita’s "incarnation" is the "incarnation" of Changan’s impact on high-end new energy.

At the same time, Avita’s marketing style is very "Huawei flavor", which is first reflected in "design". It is the same as the angular technology of major manufacturers in the popular sense. At this point, Avita is also Huawei’s early "car" exploration.

2. Huawei’s blessing, Avita expands outward

Avita went on the market in June 2022 and did not start delivery until the end of 2022. The long delivery period in the middle also made the public have some doubts. After all, many "major events" happened in the new energy field during this period. There were frequent news of Weimar falling behind, Xiaopeng’s sales halved, and the high-end G9 controversy continued. Extreme Krypton quietly climbed to the first place, and it was difficult for the traveler to deliver. The slower delivery speed also made booking customers nervous.

So, at this stage of time, where are Avita’s internal and external competitors coming from? According to Dcar data, Avita 11 is positioned as a medium and large SUV, with a body height of 1601. The body heights of the NIO ES7 and Xiaopeng G9 are 1720mm and 1680mm respectively. Coupled with Avita’s slippery-back roof design, Avita’s rear space and storage space are greatly compressed. But another angle is that Avita’s wheelbase is 15mm more than that of the NIO ES7 of the same level, 2975mm, and 25mm more than that of the Flying R7, which realizes the shaping of the "sense of space" from another angle.

3. Under internal worries, Avita is still "struggling"

At the same time, Yu Chengdong, who is in charge of the smart selection model and creates the "miracle" of the world, will become the only person in charge of Huawei’s "car BU".

In April 2021, at the Shanghai Auto Show, the industry was also full of expectations for the extreme fox autonomous driving technology under the Huawei HI model. At this time, the person in charge of Huawei car BU was still Wang Jun. Why is this? Guo Li once told his old comrades that he wanted to hire a person familiar with the situation in the Northeast as the factory director and himself as a deputy. "The central government has decided that the automobile factory will be completed and put into production in three years. If a comrade who is familiar with the situation in the Northeast, with older qualifications, stronger abilities and higher positions, can be the factory director, it will be more conducive to mobilizing forces from all over the world to support the FAW construction."

In order to "let go" the factory manager, Guo Li went to Beijing and Shenyang many times to ask the Party Central Committee and the Northeast Bureau to transfer the factory director. In early 1953, Guo Li finally hoped to replace him with Rao Bin, and he was "demoted" to the first deputy factory manager and chief engineer.

Unity is strength. Rao Bin focused on basic construction, while Guo Li focused on production preparation. Rao Bin made a bold and resolute move, Guo Li was down-to-earth, serious and meticulous, and the two cooperated tacitly to successfully complete the task of building and putting into production in three years. At that time, many designers lived in simple houses with no floors, the ground was damp, and the boxes would get moldy on the ground. It was fine in summer, but we had to make a fire in winter. "Although life was hard, we all focused on work," recalls Liu Jingchuan, the former chief designer of the First Automobile Factory.

Beginning in the second half of 1954, tall factories were erected one after another, and civil construction work was gradually transferred from outdoors to indoors. In order to carry out larger-scale winter construction in a closed factory building of more than 200,000 square meters, Soviet expert Kirev proposed using locomotives for heating.

Is it safe to use locomotives for heating? Can it work? After repeated studies, the builders found it feasible. Therefore, the Ministry of Railways specially transferred 8 steam locomotives from all over the country for FAW construction.

In order to cooperate with the "heating" of the locomotive, the pipeline system was redesigned at the construction site, and the steam locomotive was modified, and the hot steam was continuously transported to the construction site. Fu Yuwu, the honorary chairperson of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, said that the locomotive was turned into a large heater, and the workers sprayed steam on the ground while covering it with a straw curtain. The factory manager and his employees worked around the clock to build a FAW on the black land.

They all straightened their chests and wanted to be more exuberant. Colorful paper flowers flew all over the sky, and many people didn’t have paper flowers in their hands, so they threw sorghum, rice and grain onto the car." After the Jiefang brand car came out, it quickly became the main force of urban and rural transportation and highway transportation in China, which left a deep memory for several generations. Subsequently, FAW developed the first Dongfeng brand car and the first Hongqi brand high-end car in New China in 1958.

Looking back at the summer 65 years ago, inspired by the slogan of "ride the east wind, show the red flag, create a high-end car to meet Chairperson Mao", the FAW factory broke the routine and adopted the method of "catching the temple fair" to recruit talents in the factory area. The red flag car placed in the compound was designed and manufactured for more than 2,000 parts of the prototype Chrysler, which was robbed by everyone in less than a few hours.

After 33 days of hard work, the Hongqi brand high-end car was successfully launched, and Chinese cultural elements such as "sky round place", "Chinese fan grille", "palace tail lights" were integrated into it, and it was equipped with a V8 engine designed by FAW, with a maximum power of 200 horsepower and a top speed of 185 kilometers per hour. At this point, the Hongqi car drove to the land of China and became China’s own high-end national car brand.

At the beginning of 1959, the Hongqi sedan entered a tense mass production preparation stage, and the product quality became a prominent contradiction. At the fifth-level cadre meeting attended by 2,000 people in the whole factory, everyone’s speeches merged into a determination: a batch of qualified Hongqi cars must be produced to participate in the tenth anniversary of the National Day. In response to the production difficulties and quality problems that have been discovered, 323 key attack commandos were organized, including 32 key commandos of the whole factory.

At that time, many of the problems FAW encountered were technical problems that no one had ever encountered in China, such as the hydraulic tappet of the engine. The products that were initially trial-produced had a lifespan of only two minutes in the high-speed operation of the engine. To break through the problems, the hydraulic tappet commando led by Li Gang gathered more than 150 professionals in design, technology, processing and trial production.

While studying relevant literature and analyzing foreign samples, they proposed a plan for testing. The commandos tried dozens of different materials, and finally selected alloy cast iron. After 42 tests on the quenching process, they finally determined the quenching time and temperature.

Under the mobilization of the whole factory, many key research projects have played an important role in improving the quality of Hongqi cars. In September 1959, on the eve of the tenth anniversary of the National Day, the first batch of 30 Hongqi brand high-end cars and 2 inspection vehicles produced after quality research were sent to Beijing.

On January 1, 1987, the second generation of Jiefang CA141 vehicles was officially put into production, and China National Automobile Industry Corporation awarded FAW a one-ton medal. Afterwards, FAW took the initiative to keep up with the times, joining hands with world auto giants such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and Audi. At the same time, cooperation with multinational companies has brought a lot of technology and advanced management experience.

Lin Ganwei, former general manager of FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd., recalls that in 1987, Volkswagen came to FAW to seek cooperation opportunities. At that time, FAW had purchased the Chrysler 488 engine production line, and Dr. Hahn, the former chairperson of Volkswagen Group, promised to install Chrysler engines into the Audi 100 model, and it was a success.

With the efforts of all parties, on May 17, 1988, FAW and Audi signed a "technology transfer license contract for the production of Audi in FAW", which kicked off Audi’s entry into the Chinese market. The next 30 years were the period of China’s reform and opening up, and Audi also benefited a lot. By now, China has become Audi’s largest single market in the world. Audi has many domestic models in China, and sales have continued to lead the Chinese luxury car market for more than 30 years.

  Engineer Li Fangzheng was the B-star model supervisor. One day in 2005, after the satellite entered the country, he suddenly found that the satellite’s attitude was seriously out of order. If it was not solved in time, the satellite would lose its function forever. The satellite transit only lasted for ten minutes. In this short ten minutes, Li Fangzheng quickly performed power-saving maintenance on the satellite, organized "expert consultation", and formulated a treatment plan. After days and nights of hard work, the satellite’s condition finally returned to normal.

  By 2017, the twin satellites had been working for 13 years and overdue for 11 years, making them a veritable "birthday star". Overdue service of a satellite was equivalent to a satellite doing the work of multiple satellites. Due to the high cost of satellite manufacturing and launch, the precise measurement and control of the monitoring and control personnel was equivalent to saving the country hundreds of millions of yuan.

  Remote diagnosis allows "China Star" to fly safely

  Satellite in-orbit diagnosis and maintenance technology is the key and foundation of satellite health management, and has always been a key area of research for aerospace powers. It is very difficult for "people on the ground" to diagnose "stars in the sky". Without the support of big data, satellite diagnosis and maintenance can only be a castle in the air and passive water.

  Therefore, the Xi’an Satellite Measurement and Control Center has focused on key research and made every effort to obtain the "medical qualification certificate" for satellite diagnosis and maintenance.

  "In 2009, we managed more than 80 satellites, and the satellite failure rate was 2.7 times per day; in 2017, the number of satellites increased significantly, but the failure rate doubled. The improvement of fault diagnosis and maintenance level has eliminated many faults in the bud…" In February 2017, at the National Science and Technology Progress Award in Beijing, Fan Henghai, the chief engineer of the long-term management department of the center’s spacecraft, won the approval of the judges with a set of numbers.

  In early April this year, the center organized a full-satellite health inspection of the Beidou second-generation navigation satellite. Relying on the independently developed service system, scientists and technicians completed the inspection process that originally took 10 hours in just 5 minutes.   Heaven and earth rescue brings "China Star" back to life

  Over the years, the Xi’an Satellite Measurement and Control Center has successfully completed more than 200 real-time satellite launch measurement and control missions and 11 Shenzhou spacecraft measurement and control missions. What makes the measurement and control people most proud is the "Heaven and Earth Rescue" that came back to life and turned the tide when the satellite malfunctioned.

  In June 2002, the software system of the overdue China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite malfunctioned suddenly, and the attitude was out of control. After 15 days and nights of fierce fighting and hundreds of laps of uninterrupted tracking, the center restored the satellite to its normal attitude. Experts from the Brazilian Space Research Institute marveled: This is a miracle! China’s space measurement and control technology is amazing!

  In the center, as long as the famous "double-star rescue" is mentioned, everyone knows it. In the middle of the night on October 23, 2006, senior engineer Han Zhongmin’s phone suddenly rang: a satellite in orbit suddenly failed, the attitude was out of control, the satellite downlink signal was sometimes absent, the remote control command sent by the ground was basically not executed, and the satellite function was lost.

  In the following two months, Han Zhongmin and colleagues repeatedly deliberated and carefully designed more than 20 emergency remote control operations, and sent 4,216 remote control commands successively. Many technicians lamented that more remote control commands were issued during the rescue period than others in their lifetime.

  On December 30, 2006, according to the calculations of the satellite measurement and control center, the Yuanwang survey ship captured the satellite over the southern hemisphere and successfully injected remote control commands. After a 69-day battle, the satellite was finally brought back to life.

  On February 3, 2007, a Beidou satellite that had just been launched lost contact with the ground and could not receive a downlink signal for 17 consecutive days. At that time, many people in the industry felt very pessimistic, believing that the star had completely lost control and the possibility of coming back to life was slim.

  During the 60-day rescue period, more than 1,000 engineers and technicians from the central measurement and control system participated in the rescue work and sent more than 100,000 remote control instructions to the satellite, which finally brought the satellite back to life and made the rescue work a complete success.

China’s takeaway market size exceeds 650 billion yuan, covering 460 million consumers

Soon, the call to pick up the meal is called – ordering takeout has become an indispensable part of contemporary urban life. The "China Takeaway Industry Development Report for the First Half of 2019 and 2020" recently released by the China Hotel Association and Meituan Research Institute shows that the scale of the domestic catering takeaway industry has gradually expanded in recent years, and it is expected that online catering will account for more than 20% of the entire catering industry in 2020.

  The food delivery market is still not saturated

  Under the wave of "Internet +", a variety of life service formats are undergoing subversive changes, and the booming development of food delivery is particularly noticeable.

  According to iResearch survey data, the scale of China’s catering takeaway industry in 2019 was 653.60 billion yuan, an increase of 39.3% compared with 2018. By the end of 2019, the number of takeaway consumers among China’s 900 million netizens was about 460 million, an increase of 12.7% year-on-year. Orders and transaction amounts also maintained rapid growth.

  Under the impact of the epidemic this year, food delivery is even more critical to the catering industry. The epidemic has a wide range and long duration, and the prevention and control measures are strict. Consumers are "home", and the dine-in business of the catering industry has been greatly impacted. In this context, the habit of more users ordering takeout has also been cultivated and strengthened, and takeout has become the most important source of revenue for many merchants.

  Zhao Ping, director of the International Trade Research Department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that the contribution rate of catering takeout to total revenue has increased year by year, which is changing the profit pattern of catering enterprises, enabling catering enterprises to create a new profit growth engine in addition to dine-in.

  Some experts also pointed out that the current market situation of China’s catering takeaway industry is stabilizing, but the market is still not saturated. The takeaway industry is expected to develop into a trillion-dollar market in the next 1-3 years.

  Healthy takeout is gaining popularity

  The demand for takeaway mainly comes from residential areas, corporate office buildings, schools and other scenes. Among them, "post-80s", "post-90s" and even "post-00s" have a higher acceptance of online consumption. As the main consumer, they have created a more diverse consumer demand. Breakfast, lunch, and evening meals can no longer meet the increasingly fragmented dining needs. Extra meals have become an important part of food takeaway. Meituan data shows that 20% of users will choose afternoon tea and supper outside of dinner.

  In recent years, policies such as the "Healthy China 2030" Plan Outline have been introduced one after another, and consumers’ health awareness has been continuously improved. With the continuous expansion of takeaway boundaries and the continuous enhancement of delivery capabilities, food flavors can be better preserved, and more categories of products and OurHours delivery have become a reality. That is to say, under the premise that it has been accepted by more people, retaining customers is more important than obtaining traffic. Takeaway has grown from the early stage of red envelope subsidies to a more mature stage of competing for delivery efficiency and food quality.

  At this stage, the ability to provide consumers with better quality products and more timely delivery will be more tested, rather than the simple and crude "burning money" ability. The new trends of "explosion", "quality", "chain" and "health" presented by food and beverage takeout are the latest response to consumer demand.

  Some experts said that since the competition in the industry, the Internet catering takeaway industry needs to jump out of the limitation of "catering takeaway", focus more on the deployment of the ecosystem, and make more efforts in the coordination of local life service full scene business lines, the digitalization of merchants, and the improvement of distribution logistics networks.

  Join forces to provide quality service

  At present, there are about 9 million restaurants in China. In April this year, a survey of merchants by Meituan Research Institute showed that nearly 80% of the surveyed catering enterprises are or will carry out takeaway business. However, most of these merchants operate on a small scale, lack self-innovation awareness, cannot effectively link people, money, things and customers, and operate inefficiently.

  Compared with the fragmentation of catering supply enterprises, food delivery platforms are highly concentrated "two worlds". According to iiMedia consulting data, Meituan and Ele.me two giants occupy more than 90% of the food delivery market share in first- and second-tier cities. The industry barriers are high, and the competition between the two is becoming increasingly intense. For the platform side, it is crucial to improve the stickiness and active level of merchants and users.

  On the basis of the platform, the food and beverage takeaway market has formed a complete ecosystem that connects users, merchants, and distributors, radiating supply chains, shared kitchens, and takeaway operations. The industrial development has risen from the primary stage to a more mature stage, but the ecosystem still needs to be improved. Issues such as platform overlord terms, malicious fines for delivery riders, delivery timeouts, food safety, and refund difficulties need to be addressed urgently.

  In terms of food safety, some places have already made useful explorations. In July this year, the Nanjing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau of Jiangsu Province issued a local standard "Specification for the use of one-time sealing labels for catering takeaways". The sealing labels are made of special materials. Once the sealing labels are opened or the outer packaging is damaged, they cannot be restored to their original state, reducing the possibility of pollution during the delivery process. The standards were first issued in the province, and detailed regulations were made in four aspects: classification, material, information and use.

  The overlord clause forces merchants to choose one of the two, and high commissions are also very troublesome for merchants. In April this year, with the intervention of relevant departments, Meituan Takeaway decided to increase the rebate ratio to 3% -6% for high-quality catering takeaway merchants in Guangdong to expand its coverage. It also said that it respects the independent choice of online platforms by catering merchants and supports the multi-channel development of private domain traffic by catering merchants. Meituan will fully open the delivery platform services to connect.
